The Project
The SHARES Project (2010-2015) examined an unexplored and largely unrecognised problem: the allocation of international responsibility among multiple states and other actors. It uncovered the nature and extent of the problem of sharing responsibility in an increasingly interdependent and heterogeneous international legal order.
The SHARES Project was led by Professor André Nollkaemper, Amsterdam Center for International Law, University of Amsterdam.
The ‘Principles on Shared Responsibility in International Law’ have been published in the European Journal of International Law (Volume 31, Issue 1, February 2020).
